Mary Slessor was born in Aberdeen, Scotland but with her family moved to Dundee while she was still quite small. At a young age she started work in the jute factory to help her family's finances. She became a Christian and felt the call to Calabar, West Africa. Soon she won the hearts of the natives as she lived as one of them and tried to understand their ways. She was appalled by their barbaric customs of slave labour, killing of twin babies and cannibalism. She penetrated deeper and deeper into the jungle and over the years helped to eradicate, or at least lessen, these atrocities. Because she put others before herself in her effort to win them to Christ, her health often suffered. Eventually she received recognition and was honoured for her work. But the real reward she wanted was for the natives to love God.

Disasters are a fact of life and can happen suddenly, anywhere and at any in World Disasters time. How we deal with disaster strengthens our character and helps us to cope when another disaster occurs. In these stories six young children survive the particular disaster they face. Some had faith in God, some weren’t sure if God really cared about them and one didn’t know God at all. Where was God when each disaster struck? He was there right in the middle of it helping and strengthening each child whether they prayed to Him or not. God didn’t remove the disaster but helped them through it whether it was an enormous disaster like the Tsunami, Earthquake or the Drought or a smaller one like the Hurricane, Flood or Fire. When we put our trust in God, our faith grows. Follow these children as they face up to their disaster. (These are not real children but they are real disasters.)

There are many who believe that the book of Revelation is too difficult to understand. If this is so, why then did God reveal to many of his servants the need to read it and also to understand what he has given us. The serious reader will recognise that there is much in this book that is quite different from any other portion of scripture. We must however appreciate that this is God’s final message and as such there is nothing that he will change in any way. He remains the unchangeable Almighty Lord of all. It is only mankind that changes. The last chapter of this special book reveals absolutely essential teaching concerning the Trinity, and this is that the Lord God, The lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all unique attributes of the triune God. In this final chapter, the Lord God warns us of our absolutely urgent need to be ready, and gives the final severe warning - “surely I come quickly”. This uniqueness of the book of Revelation is vastly different from any other book that has ever been written. It stands alone. It reveals God’s plan for the future and warns us of the terrible consequences of those who ignore the rightful claim of our Almighty Holy God.

Amazing Faith: Testimonies of Faith and Perseverance shares the testimonies of fellow students the author met while attending a Theological College. Their stories begin when they were children and enable us to follow their journey to adulthood and on to serving God in various ways. Told from the perspective of each individual, each story will give you the opportunity to experience their sadness and difficulties as they strive to survive in their own culture. Against enormous odds all achieved greatness in the work they are doing to the glory of God. You will cry with them through their struggles and laugh with them as you see God working through them in remarkable ways. These young children had nothing exceptional about them - they were just ordinary children with all the potential God had given them. As they met God their faith grew and they learned to trust God for their future.

TOUCHED BY ANGELS brings together several inspirational stories of God's supernatural intervention in the lives of Christian believers. They constitute extra-biblical proof of God's divine power and love. The contributors are or were remarkable people whom the Lord had touched in one way or another, manifesting His divine love and miraculous power. It was the editor's own unexpected experience of the Lord's power and presence that, in 1984, changed his life and caused him to forsake his academic career in South Africa and move to the United Kingdom where he could obey his mission to write. It was also that remarkable experience of His power that made him seek out others whom the Lord had touched while he was still living in South Africa. This little book is the result of that quest.

The moral purpose of Charles Kingsley's novels is pronounced because he was a preacher, and more specifically, a teacher. He was above all a preacher of stirring didactic sermons. It is the didactic content of his writings-in his sermons, his novels, and his essays on natural theology-which is the study of this work. One too often forgets that Kingsley was not, in the first instance, a social and political reformer. As a preacher, and as a writer, he was pre-eminently a teacher-a theologian, yes, but more importantly, a Christian didactician. He was not an evangelical preacher, yet the Christian gospel was at the heart of his teachings and his moral exhortations. This work attempts to look at the Christian message that was the inspiration behind his socio-religious gospel. Writing at the time of Charles Darwin, Kingsley saw no reason to lose his sound Christian faith with the emergence of Darwin's theory of evolution. Instead, he could accept it as a means to a divine end, another example of how Providence might bring about the Kingdom of God on earth.

Religion was transformed into Relationship for the author following an encounter with God in 1977. The Bible, no longer a dusty book on the shelf, became the Living Word of God to her and God's tool in transforming her life. From the beginning she felt inspired to write things down - jottings, notes on Bible verses, and testimonies to the amazing work of God in her life and the lives of others. She had a dream - one day she would write a book. This book is the fulfilment of that dream, maybe just a beginning. Her motive in telling her story of what God has done is first to give Him all the Glory, but also to give away what she has received, that others too may be blessed, forgiven, healed and transformed by the same Living God, through His Son Jesus Christ.

Seeing God through the Human Body is a head-on confrontation with Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. In it, a medical doctor and creationist uses his learning and insight as a doctor to defuse the theory of evolution and make a case in favour of God Almighty, in the creation of the human body. Appealing to common sense and drawing upon his medical knowledge, the author argues that the functioning of the various organs of the body are so intricate  that they could only have come about through remarkably clever forethought and planning.

Size : 21.6 x 13.8 x 1.4 cm
Pages: 120

Publisher: Thank You Jesus Books . Published: Feb 2010

In this readable book the author, a Christian doctor, revisits the Healing Miracles of the Doctor Who Knows No Bounds, and brings vividly to mind the dramatic and very real impact that Jesus made in His healing ministry. The value of the book is the inspiration that comes from the author's sincere conviction that prayer changes things and that through prayer we can be in touch, not just with the hem of Jesus' garment, but with the very loving heart of Almighty God.

The author stresses that the Healing Ministry of Doctor Jesus did not end with His death, resurrection and ascension and that even to this day those who genuinely invoke His Name in childlike faith can expect astonishing miracles, including the healing of diseases that have baffled conventional medical practice.

Have Anything You Really Really Want! A Christian Testimony
by C H Muller.

US Price:
    U K Price:  £10.27

This little book is a personal testimony, bearing witness to how the author's faith opened doors and released the power of God -- a God who loves and cares, who guides us to fulfil the special plan he has for each one of us.

On one level, it explores the essential principles for personal success and achievement. It’s a record of how these principles worked for the author. How did he achieve his three university doctorates? How did he apply himself, what research methods did he use? On a superficial, materialistic plane, how did he acquire his Rolls Royce, or his hotel in Scotland?

4.0 out of 5 stars Have you lost a child? 20 Jul 2009

Have you ever lost a child?

For anyone who has ever lost a child, this is a very comforting book. If God is a God of love, why would he not intervene to save an innocent child's life? Perhaps we don't realise that in many cases he has done just that—but what about those times when the child died, as a result of an accident, cot death, or, worst case scenario, through abuse and murder? — Charles Muller, Diadem Books.
